About San Jose Japantown Lions

The San Jose Japantown Lions Club was chartered in April of 2011, just 1 month after the disastrous earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku in the Sendai province of Japan.

Our mission is to work with and for community agencies and organizations within the Historic San Jose Japantown Community to help preserve it’s cultural significance within San Jose, California, and the United States. We volunteer and support many International, National, and especially Japantown Community projects, with our main focus being on youth, seniors, veterans, and those with sight and hearing challenges. We share a core belief that a strong local community is an essential building block in a major city like San Jose.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, beginning at 6:30PM at the:Issei Memorial Building 565 N. 5th StreetSan Jose, CA 95112

Please feel free to drop in and see what we are doing.

San Jose Japantown Lions Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Public Benefit Charity. Donations in excess of the meal value are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
